"The arts are
concerned with understanding and expressing the qualities of human
experiences. .
Through music,
dance, visual arts, drama and the rest, we try to give form to the
feelings and perceptions that move us most as human beings: our
experiences of love, grief, belonging, and isolation, and all of the
currents of feeling that constitute our experience of ourselves and of
others."
NACCCE (1999)
In
our determination to ensure that all children leave CCJ as literate and
numerate as possible, we not only will not 'squeeze' the arts, we will
expand and deepen the opportunities children have to both express
themselves creatively and to appreciate the artistic creations of
others.
